14.11 Webinar “Global Wind Energy Economics and Prospects”

Many experts say that wind energy today is one of the most dynamically developing and promising types of renewable energy sources. The experts of the KPMG, the audit and consulting company, have calculated that wind energy has the potential to produce 34% of the world’s electricity by 2040 (nowadays share is 4-5%). What should change for this purpose and what investments are needed? What place will Russia occupy in the global market of new energy?

In many regions of the world, utility scale wind power provides low electricity costs, being, in fact, the most economical way to produce electricity. Is that so? In Russia, the economically justified price of electricity produced by wind is still significantly higher than the current tariffs. Will our wind power generation be able to compete with traditional energy sources and when?

These and other questions will be answered by Vladimir Sidorovich, Director of the Novaya Energetika Information and Analytical Center, owner of the RenEn.ru website, author of the “World Energy Revolution. How Renewable Energy Sources will Change Our World” bestseller, author of dozens of articles on energy policy issues.
