Sarens Installs Wind Turbines near Minsk, Belarus

The Sarens Bel (a subsidiary of the Sarens Group, a member of the RAWI), installed two wind turbines near Maladzyechna, Minsk Oblast, Belarus.

According to the company, Sarens specialists had prepared drawings and visited the site to select the optimal configuration of the main crane Terex-Demag TC2800-1 (600 t) and Terex-Demag AC100-4L (100t) auxiliary crane which was later used for the main crane assembly and wind turbine installation.

The installation of the 600 kW Enercon E40 (80 metres hub height) required a runner, which was delivered from Poland for the project. Then the 1MW NegMicon NM60/1000 (70 metres hub height) was installed. The company adjusted to the weather conditions as much as possible in order to minimise downtime for the client.

The company stressed that a 500-tonne truck-mounted crane (such as the Liebherr LTM1500), which is easier to deliver and assemble, is commonly used for this work, “but in this case, the client was willing to select us as the crane supplier due to the proposed budget and the fact that the client was already familiar with ‘our style’ of carrying out the works judging by examples from other sites,” Sarens said.
