Leader of the global wind energy market, Vestas has appointed the head of its Russian divisions Vestas Russia and Vestas Manufacturing Russia. This is reported by the company’s press release, released today. Here is the text of the press release:

News release from Vestas Northern & Central Europe Hamburg, 01 March 2018 Vestas appoints Managing Director for Russia and establishes local sales and service hubs Vestas has appointed Kimal Yusupov as Managing Director for Vestas Russia and Vestas Manufacturing Russia. In this role, he will be responsible for implementing Vestas’ local presence and entry into the world’s fourth biggest energy market. He will be based in the newly established Vestas sales office in Moscow. Kimal Yusupov is a trained power engineer and has worked at the Uzbek-German JV ABB, MAN Diesel & Turbo Russia Ltd. More recently, he was employed by Siemens, where he was responsible for various power plant projects in Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Greece, and lead on Renewable Energy Russia & Central Asia activities. In addition, he was Head of Medium Voltage & Systems Department and was driving localisation activities in Russia at Siemens. “I am very excited to join the highly motivated team already working hard on establishing Vestas’ business operations and footprint in Russia”, says Kimal Yusupov. “I am looking forward to be a part of the Vestas team expanding renewable energy in this important market”. Vestas is also opening a construction and service office in the city of Rostov-on-Don. The office will host construction, installation and service teams and will ensure the successful execution and maintenance of upcoming projects. We are currently in the process of hiring local employees with skills related to supply chain localization, turbine installation and service. “We are making good progress with our market entry into Russia and I am pleased to announce that we have now appointed Kimal Yusupov as Managing Director for Russia. Our presence in Russia now include sales and service offices in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don respectively, and we are together with our partners well underway setting up a blade factory in the region of Ulyanovsk, a nacelles assembly factory in Nizhny Novgorod region, and a tower factory in the Rostov region”, states Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe.
