Russian Carbon-Free Future: the Government Shaping Renewable Energy’s Destiny

In November, the Government will take a decision on the development of renewable energy in Russia. Governmentwide debate continues on the parameters of the state support programme for the green sector for the period 2025-2035. Participants in the Russian renewable energy sector urge the authorities to make the only right decision, not to reduce the state support below the minimum amount and not to burden the programme with unnecessary fines. This kind of decision only will make it possible to further develop sustainable power industry in Russia, increasing the share of renewables in the country’s power mix. It depends on the decision of the Government if Russia preserves the barely formed market and it gives the industry players a chance to make investment decisions again, build new facilities and create manufacturing capacities.

The Russia Renewable Energy Development Association (RREDA) and the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI) are holding a meeting of industry experts from Norway and Russia to discuss the Government’s decision and the prospects for the development of Russian renewable energy on November 25 at 12:00 (Moscow time).

Feel free to join the discussion as the Russia’s green future is in our hands!
