During RAWI FORUM 2021, held on December 1-2 in Moscow, RAWI experts and analysts managed to update the data on implementation of domestic wind power projects as of 01.12.2021. The total capacity of wind power stations in Russia has surpassed 2 GW and reached 2043,84 MW. Of these, 1,938.09 MW were built under the RES CDA programme.

Another important fact: in 2021, more than 1 GW of capacity was commissioned in our country – 1,138.89 MW, to be precise. Of those, Fortum PJSC accounted for 478.8 MW, Rosatom’s NovaWind JSC (a division of Rosatom) for 570 MW and Enel for 90.09 MW. A total of 368 new wind turbines were put into operation in Russia during the year.

Thus, the Russian wind power industry has set two records at once in terms of the total capacity of wind turbines put into operation, as well as in terms of their number. For comparison, in 2020, the total capacity of commissioned wind farms was 713.8 MW, and the number of wind turbines put into operation was 223.

The RAWI will provide more detailed information on the state of the domestic wind energy market in its annual analytical review, which will be formed based on the results of December of this year.
