Next Thursday, 16 September 2021, at 11 a.m., the webinar “Offshore Wind Energy in the Black Sea: Russia and Turkey” is launched by RAWI in cooperation with the Turkish Offshore Wind Energy Association with the participation of GE Renewable Energy.

The online meeting will be moderated by Igor Bryzgunov, Chairman of the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry, and Murat Durak, Chairman of the Turkish Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED). English was chosen as the business event official language.

The webinar will discuss the potential for offshore wind power development in both countries’ Black Sea waters, and the issue of which country is most likely to have its first wind farm off the Black Sea coast. So far, according to European experts, Turkey, with its developed onshore wind energy industry, stands a good chance of gaining the upper hand in the construction of wind projects in the region.

Experts from GE Renewable Energy will join the Russian and Turkish wind energy associations for a discussion on the technology used in their GE Haliade-X 14MW offshore wind turbines.

Lawyers from the German Clyde & Co will help understand the issues involved in improving the legal framework for the design and construction of offshore wind farms.

The second part of the webinar will include a lot of informal communication, with the speakers answering questions from the audience. You will find the link to the webinar on the webinar page, feel free to join in!
