Wind power is a young, fast-emerging industry with a positive, progressive image. Dynamic technology development is evident, reducing both CAPEX and OPEX costs.
But the backbone of this industry’s success, according to BOTC experts, is people, their competence, motivation, knowledge, skills, and safe work. BOTC’s origins lie in training personnel for the offshore and oil & gas industries. Since 2015, the company has focused on training in the wind energy sector.
According to company managers, BOTC is currently the largest wind energy training centre in the Baltic States and Finland. The centre annually issues 2,000 GWO-standard certificates. BOTC’s main goal is to create a chain of independent training centres that can support and assist wind energy market players in terms of safety, training and personnel certification.
By joining the RAWI, BOTC expects to find partners and like-minded entities who share the philosophy of prioritising practical training, continuous personnel development, above all in safety and professional development.
In cooperation with other RAWI members, the centre plans on establishing training bases (certified training centres), training both on-site and at mobile training stations (mobile sites).
BOTC management expects RAWI members to agree (through a memorandum or another kind of agreement) on a mandatory minimum level of training and certification for personnel involved in the installation and maintenance of wind farms, with GWO standards and relevant Russian legal requirements adopted as the basis for setting the minimum level of training.
For its part, BOTC is ready to respond quickly to RAWI members’ requests and suggestions for training in any format ranging from online modules (training or testing) to practical training in a training centre or on-site at the customer’s premises.
BOTC has extensive experience in creating specialised training modules and providing on-site training for wind farms installation.
BOTC has training centres in Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. On-site raining is provided at sites in Finland.
BOTC instructors speak the language of a trainee and have hands-on industry experience.
The theoretical part of the training (theory and testing) is delivered through online video modules together with individual work with an instructor.
The practical part is organised on real equipment and simulators; on equipment used in the industry, on specific projects. BOTC focuses on training and safety and so, RAWI members are offered a mutually beneficial partnership.
