Karmalinovskaya Wind Farm’s Electrical Energy and Power Come into Wholesale Market
Starting from April 1, 2021, the Karmalinovskaya wind farm supplies electrical energy and power to the Russian wholesale market for electricity and power (WMEP).

Alexander Korchagin, Director General of the NovaWind (owner and operator of the plant, a member of the RAWI), comments, “In 2020, our serial production of components and units for wind turbines in Volgodonsk, Rostov Oblast, reached its design capacity, and the Karmalinovskaya project has already been furnished with equipment manufactured completely in Russia. While implementing the project, we have increased our local content level beyond the required level. Having a well-established supply chain and our own manufacturing capacities in place, I can say with confidence that we are ready to meet the requirements of the new renewable energy development support programme (RES CDA 2.0) to further increase the local content level of our products, scale up exports and develop services we provide.”

The Karmalinovskaya wind farm, located in the Stavropol Krai, has an installed capacity of 60 MW and consists of 24 wind turbines. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed that the equipment operating in the facility is 68% localised.
