Denmark is a world wind industry leader. Vestas (Member of the RAWI) and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (Member of the RAWI), the Danish companies, currently remain leaders in the market of wind turbines and their components. Almost half of Denmark’s annual energy production (43.6%) was provided by wind turbines in 2017, and windless 2018 summer resulted in 19% less wind-produced energy output of 40.8%. Wind turbines are expected to be responsible for half of the country’s demand for electricity by 2020, and coupled with other renewable energy sources, the total share of RES-based power generation is expected to reach a record 80%. Denmark is also one of the leaders and pioneers of offshore wind energy.

Under the umbrella of the forum, Carsten Søndergaard will make a presentation at the “Wind Energy in Russia: Priority or Experiment?” plenary session. The session will bring together representatives of the authorities and heads of major international and Russian who will express their views on the future of the wind energy in Russia.

The activity programme includes discussion of key topics such as localisation of wind turbine production, construction of wind farms, new technologies, wholesale and retail markets, offshore wind energy, development of wind energy systems in isolated regions, as well as other relevant topics.
