Sergey Morozov, Governor of the Ulyanovsk Oblast, To Take Part In The Main International Forum On Wind Energy, The RAWI FORUM 2020 In Moscow
It will be devoted to the discussion of problems and issues of wind industry development in Russia.
On February 19-20, 2020 in Moscow, the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI) with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce is gathering professional participants of all sectors of the Russian and global industries to inform about the current status of changes in the Russian wind energy market, identify new growth points, discuss development problems and possible ‘forks in the road’ of the wind energy development in Russia.
The programme of the event includes discussion of key topics such as localisation of wind turbine production, construction of wind farms, new technologies, wholesale and retail markets, development of wind energy systems in the Arctic and other isolated regions, as well as other relevant topics.
Sergey Morozov is expected to make a presentation at the “Wind Energy in Russia: Priority or Experiment?” plenary sitting. The sitting brings together representatives of the authorities, heads of major international and Russian companies, who will express their views on the future of wind energy in Russia. The session is going to be moderated by Jeroen Ketting, founder of The Lighthousegroupe consulting company.
The Ulyanovsk Oblast became the center of competence and driver of the wind energy market in Russia in 2018. Two wind farms with a total capacity of 85 MW are located here. By 2035-2040, the regional authorities plan to increase the total capacity of wind farms in the region to 1 GW. The team of the Ulyanovsk Oblast is also actively working on projects for localisation of wind turbine components production; the first and the most significant project was the production of Vestas blades, also the team is building a full-fledged wind energy cluster with a developed industrial part, projects in education and science.
